Veneers refers to thin slices of wood, that are 0.6mm thick and are sourced directly from manufacturers. The base ply is made only hardwood species like Gurjan/ Keruing and is 100% sourced from Myanmar (Burma) / Indonesia, that are typically glued onto core panels to produce flat panels such as doors, tops, and panels for cabinets, parquet floors and parts of furniture. Veneer is obtained either by "peeling" the trunk of a tree or by slicing large rectangular blocks of wood known as flitches. Each slicing processes gives a very distinctive types of grains, depending upon the tree species.
